WordPress maintenance: we keep the interesting Tuesdays from happening to you.

Nobody budgets for the hack, the plugin conflict, or the 2 a.m. white screen — they just pay for it, with interest. WordPress maintenance is boring until it isn't. We keep 100+ client sites patched, backed up, and monitored so the boring kind of Tuesday is the only kind you get.

Why unmaintained WordPress sites fail on schedule

WordPress runs over 40% of the web, which makes it the most attacked platform on the web. Every unpatched plugin is a published, documented way in — attackers don't find vulnerabilities on your site, they read the plugin changelog and scan for whoever hasn't updated yet. An unmaintained site isn't standing still. It's decaying at the speed of everyone else's disclosures.

The failure is silent until it's expensive: the hack that emails your customers, the update conflict that whites-out checkout on a Friday, the backup that turns out to have stopped running in March. None of these are surprises. They're the default outcome of nobody being on duty.

What's in a TKX maintenance plan

Core + plugin updates

Tested on staging first, then rolled out. Updates land on a schedule, not whenever someone remembers.

Off-site backups

Automated, stored off your server, and restore-tested. A backup you've never restored is a hope, not a plan.

Security monitoring

Malware scanning, firewall rules, login hardening, and file-change detection. Fewer plugins, fewer holes — we prune as well as patch.

Uptime monitoring

We usually know your site is down before you do.

Small fixes included

The broken form, the misaligned banner, the stale phone number. Handled inside the plan, not quoted as projects.

Monthly reporting

What was updated, what was blocked, what broke and how fast it was fixed. Numbers, not reassurance.

How a site gets onto managed care

  1. 01
    Audit

    Week 1

Full inventory: WordPress core version, every plugin, theme code quality, hosting, backup status, existing malware. You see the risk list before we touch anything.

  2. 02
    Stabilize

    Week 1–2

Overdue updates applied on staging, dead plugins removed, backups configured and verified, security hardening installed.

  3. 03
    Monitor

    Ongoing

Uptime, security, and performance watched continuously. Updates tested and shipped on schedule.

  4. 04
    Report

    Monthly

A plain-language report of everything done and everything caught. If a month was quiet, the report proves the quiet was earned.

A dev team inside a revenue agency

  • Senior-led pods. The people patching your site are developers who build custom themes and custom plugins — so when something breaks, the person on duty can actually fix code, not just reboot and hope.
  • Prevention over rescue. Rescue work costs multiples of maintenance. We'd rather bill you for the boring version.
  • Retention is the metric. 100+ active clients across 5+ years. Maintenance clients only stay when nothing bad happens — that's the whole review.

You don't notice good maintenance. That's the deliverable.

Maintenance also covers stores, which fail more expensively than brochure sites — a down checkout is lost revenue by the minute. If you sell through WooCommerce, the plan covers commerce updates and payment-flow monitoring too.

Speed is a revenue setting

WordPress maintenance FAQs

How much does WordPress maintenance cost?

Plans scale with site complexity — a five-page brochure site and a WooCommerce store with 2,000 SKUs are different workloads. Compare it against the alternative you're actually pricing: a single hack cleanup or emergency rebuild typically costs multiples of a year of maintenance, plus the downtime while it happens. The audit sets your exact number.

How fast do you respond when something breaks?

Monitoring means we usually see the problem before you report it — the response clock often starts before your first email. Response and resolution targets are written into the plan, not implied. Every incident shows up in your monthly report with time-to-detection and time-to-fix, so you can hold us to the numbers rather than the vibe.

What happens if my site goes down at 2 a.m.?

Uptime monitoring pages us, not you. The on-call process starts with triage — hosting outage, failed update, or attack — because each has a different fix. Most overnight incidents are resolved from backups and rollbacks without you being woken up; you read about it in the morning report instead of discovering it from a customer. That inversion — you hearing it from us, not from your customers — is most of what you're paying for.

Do you maintain sites you didn't build?

Yes — most sites entering managed care were built elsewhere. The difference is we audit before we adopt: full inventory of core, plugins, theme code, and hosting, with a written risk list. If the site has problems maintenance can't paper over — abandoned plugins with no update path, a hacked core, a theme that blocks updates entirely — we say so upfront and quote the stabilization work separately. No site gets quietly babysat into a bigger failure.

What's included in the plan, and what gets billed separately?

Included: updates, backups, security and uptime monitoring, reporting, and small fixes — content tweaks, broken forms, styling glitches. Billed separately: new features, redesigns, and new-page builds, which are project work with their own scope, often handled by our theme or plugin teams. The line between the two is defined in the plan document, so a 'small fix' never turns into a surprise invoice.
